[Tomcat, HTTPD, Servlets & JSP] - JBoss 4.2.2 AS Vulnerability to CVE-2008-2938

Hi there, my first post here. My security advisor (not to say security watch-dog) ask me if JBoss 4.2.2 is vulnerable to CVE-2008-2938 as stated in http://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/343355. This flaw applies to Tomcat 6.x prior to 6.0.18. jboss-4.2.2.GA/docs/licenses/thirdparty-licenses.xml says Tomcat 6.0.10 is used. Any hints on this? Hi PeterJ Great point! .. I reached that conclusion also, I replaced jConnect2.jar (version 5) file with jConnect3.jar (version 6) in order to give me more debugging power. Now I know the error code for issue and it is purely a database issue. later on, when I reach a solution I will post it here for the benefit of our community. [Beginners Corner] - MDB cannot be created when running in "all" configuration

I have a JBoss app. When it's running in "default" configuration on different PC in the network (let say: 10.10.10.10, 10.10.10.11, 10.10.10.12) with this MDB, everything is fine (context/global JNDI can be created). @MessageDriven(activationConfig = | { | | @ActivationConfigProperty(propertyName="destination", propertyValue="queue/XXX/YYY | }) but when runnning in "all" configuration, the MDB only can be created by first Jboss (let say: 10.10.10.10) in network, the subsequent running JBoss instance ((let say: 10.10.10.11, 10.10.10.12) detected the running instance, seems clustering it automatically, causes the MDB on folowing JBoss instance cannot created. Yes, I am using getCallerPrincipal to get the caller principal, but I need the caller's Subject as well. That's not available in the standard EJB API set, but I need it to get the roll list. I just tried downloading this pdf. Looks like its a problem with only this guide. The rest of the guides (Installation, Getting Started) are downloadable. You don't have to login to download these guides. If you are OK with the online version of these guides, then those URLs are working. Maybe someone from the JBoss team will fix the issue with the pdf version of the Configuration Guide.
