Thanks Anil for quick response. I looked in to your blog and other resources but I could not find the details like the web services participating in the federation and exchanging the authentication and authorization attributes. I am looking for open source initiatives and tried Shibboleth but its Service Provider does not have support for FreeBSD. We are in a decision making situation which federation server to choose. 1) If you can answer to my previous questions that would be great. I know JBoss app server is compatible with FreeBSD and just wondering about federated SSO. 2) The next thing is the federated SSO support for web services. All the documentation talks about web based federation but did not get the information on support for web services. 3) I looked in to one of your posts (http://www.jboss.org/community/wiki/SAMLv2andXACMLv2Integration) talks about the integration of SAM2 with XACML in JBoss and wanted to know more information whether we can extend that feature for web services federation with authorization. FYI: My brief requirement is , once a web service WS1 which exists in enterprise E1 authenticates a user U1 with role R1 and trying to access WS2 from enterprise E2 (both participate in federation ) and the same user U1 will have different role R2 in enterprise E2. So my service provide at E2 should get the authorization attributes from Identity Provider 2 / federation server. Hope you got my concern. Thanks in advance. May be you can tune this a little bit, but I doubt you get major improvements. The T1000 has a 6 or 8 cores with 4 execution threads in each, so up to 32 "virtual" CPUs. But on startup and executing single requests you do not benefit from that. Here you are limited to the slow single thread performance. The CPU has only 1 GHz. Running the same app on a recent laptop with 2.x GHz dual core CPU is much faster. The main advantage of SUNs "coolthread" architecture is the scalability. As long as the application is supporting it, you can serve up to 32 requests in parallel with near constant response times which won't work with your laptop. You did not mention the JBoss version you are using. We are using JBoss-4.2.4GA including jbossws-3.0.1-native-2.0.4.GA. You can find out the service URIs by looking at http://Nebelos-C2Q:18080/jbossws/. You can define the name of the service: @WebService(serviceName = "WebServiceController") The naming of parameters using @WebParam(name="...") works for us. This might have to do with the JBoss/JBoss-WS version you're using P.S.: are you working for Cursor Software AG in Germany? It interfaces to a legacy system and enforces a couple policies, one of which is standard to EJBs, and one of which is not. We require that a "login" EJB in our application be called before any others for a given user. This EJB does many things in the legacy system. SecurityRealm enforces this policy. We also require that a user have certain roles before being allowed to call certain EJBs. A role is a concept in our legacy system that maps directly to a both an EJB role name and a security Group. SecurityRealm validates a user has the correct role before being allowed to execute an EJB. If necessary, I can provide more detail on specifically what each method of SecurityRealm does. [JBossWS] - Re: JAXWS handlers

It's JBossWS 3.1.1 native on JBoss 5.0.0. I tired the JBoss with jdk 6 (copied jars to endorsed dir) and with jdk 5 but I get same issue. I also tried with the 3.1.1 metro but I could not even deploy my web service to that one. The same webservice that worked with the native, did not work with metro !!
