We had a similar problem, but not specifically dealing with the cache. We chose the second option mentioned here http://www.jboss.org/community/wiki/useJBossWebClassLoaderinJBoss5 Also, you might want to make sure you don't have duplicate classes in different jars/wars/ears. I haven't tried to access the cache via the MBean service, but it shouldn't be too difficult using the standard jmx api's: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/javax/management/package-summary.... I think you can also get the jmx interfaces via the InitialiContext::lookup(...) route. >From what I remember, though the older versions of the cache mbeans were more useful than what are there now. I think they removed it from the 3.1.0 cache api's. What we had to do was this: | CacheFactory factory = new DefaultCacheFactory(); | Cache cache = factory.createCache("mycache-service.xml"); | MBeanServer server = MBeanServerLocator.locate(); | ObjectName on = new ObjectName( "jboss.cache:service=MyCache" ); | JmxRegistrationManager jmxManager = new JmxRegistrationManager(server, cache, on); | jmxManager.registerAllMBeans(); | If it did exist I would expect it to be in either jbosscache-core.jar or jbosscache-pojo.jar, but I don't see it in either of those. [Clustering/JBoss] - broadcast packet flooding the network

we are using jboss-4.2.0.GA , internal gigabit network usually we have deployed 3 jboss, all in a cluster, and it works perfectly and recently, we have deployed more jboss, but in a different cluster (i.e. using a different cluster name), and find that the broadcast packets in the network happen to flood the network seriously e.g. before: each machine have 1.X broadcast packet per second after: occasionally each machine have several thousand packets per second i am still checking the real cause, but want to confirm if jboss will contribute "broadcast" packets? as i just assume that it just multicast packets also, can anyone share that how many jboss can be deployed in a cluster in production environment without problem? Global-page-size should be the size of the page files you use. Default should be 10MiB. And you would rarely need to change it. (Unless you changed the page sizes on paging). paging-max-global-size-bytes is a hard limit that should protect your server from Out Of Memory Exception. The server will put everything into page mode when you hit that limit. The default is -1. (what means.. unprotected). You could set paging-max-global-size-bytes to something very close to your full memory. Say..if you have 1G memory. Put it 700MiB (700 * 1024 * 1024). We will document it property before the next release.
