[JBoss Web Services] Announcement: JBossWS-Native stack reached EOL

The integration with Apache CXF has been working as expected and JBoss AS 7.1.0 achieved JavaEE 6 Full Profile compliance [2] with JBossWS-CXF [3]. The transition to having JBossWS-CXF stack as the default webservice stack is hence completed. As a result, the JBossWS-Native stack has reached end-of-life. Starting from 4.1.x version, it is only being updated for the sake of supporting the few functionalities (namely JAX-RPC) that are still internally provided through it while having JBossWS-CXF installed on the application server. Unless consistent contribution comes from the community, there's not going to be any more JBossWS-Native binary / sources distribution release at [4]. Previous JBossWS-Native releases will stay available for download and use on the supported target containers [5]. >From the current jbossws-native svn trunk few new versions (4.1.x) of JBossWS-Native libraries / artifacts are most probably going to be produced and uploaded to the Maven repository, but those are going to follow specific JBoss AS and/or JBossWS (CXF) integration needs only. A 4.0.x contribution branch (derived from JBossWS-Native 4.0.2.GA tag) has been created and is available at [6] for whoever in the community will be willing to work on that (for instance for supporting future AS versions). This does not change anything from a product point of view; Red Hat is of course still committed to fully supporting the JBossWS-Native stack in the products already including it (e.g. JBoss EAP 5) as per subscriptions contents. We do have product maintenance branches of jbossws and each of them is meant for a specific version of JBoss EAP. Customers can't change the WS stack that's included in EAP without breaking the support contract. --------------------------------------------------

Seems I just skipped over as6 by accident. [Beginner's Corner] - Connection to Transaction Recovery Manager lasting a long time

I am running JBoss5 in a Linux Centos server and inspect connections with netstat. Every once in while a connections shows up from JBoss to the port 4713 which I think is the JTS port for the Transaction Recovery Manager. I never detect datbase activity while this connection shows up so it is difficult to see what it is doing in anything.
