I need an explanation of how Data Input Objects should work in JBPM. I've tried a little example, with a simple process shown below but the human task gets activated and I only get a warning message "Could not find variable scope for variable DataInput_1 when trying to execute Work Item Human Task. What I want to achieve is that human task is activated when I insert the required data input to ksession (e.g. some data gets submitted to a system and I pass it to ksession so human task can be executed). How do I have to model the process to achieve this blocking behaviour? Indeed their is a unique method call for user and group task in LocalTaskService. But when I pass a group id in argument to the function it call this method in TAskServiceSession : @SuppressWarnings("unchecked") public List<TaskSummary> getTasksAssignedAsPotentialOwnerByStatus(String userId, List<Status> status, String language) { doCallbackUserOperation(userId); List<String> groupIds = doUserGroupCallbackOperation(userId, null); HashMap<String, Object> params = addParametersToMap( "userId", userId, "groupIds", groupIds, "language", language, "status", status); return (List<TaskSummary>) tpm.queryWithParametersInTransaction("TasksAssignedAsPotentialOwnerByStatusWithGroups", params); } Because userId parameter is actually a groupId, the second call return an empty List. So query failed because it miss an argument: where t.archived = 0 and ( potentialOwners.id = :userId or potentialOwners.id in () ) I don't figure out what is wrong in my implementation. You can edit the shared-layout.xml to specify which parts should be available to which users (gatein.ear/portal.war/WEB-INF/conf/portal/portal/sharedlayout.xml). I am trying to figure out how you want the site to work. Are you wanting an unauthorized user to have to login, and then once logged in they only have access to the dashboard page? UserGroupCallbackManager.getInstance().existsCallback() returns false.
