The JBoss Portal docs give a simple tutorial on developing portlets. A also have another
resource, but it is not free. I can provide the URL if you like.
As far as using Eclipse goes, I simply include the portal JAR files in the libraries for
my project. But then, I tend to use Eclipse as just a glorified text editor.
