All JSF components won't work in a portlet environment. We try to build a list of tested components on the WIki page here: http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=JSFInPortletEnvironment As you see the file upload component isn't listed as working or non-working. If you successfully have it working, could you please add a note and explain how it worked ?
