You indicated that you do not have a xerces jar in your app. But there might be another one lurking somewhere. Try adding "-verbose:class" to the JAVA_OPTS in run.bat and running again. This option should tell you which jar files are being used to load the org.apache.xerces.jaxp.SAXParserFactoryImpl and javax.xml.parsers.SAXParserFactory classes.
