We will go into production soon with a Seam application running on JBoss AS 4.2. I would
like to start with a single server. How much working memory would you recommend?
Paragraph 27.1 in the Seam book by Yuan/Heute says that a too large heap size can even
slow down the JVM (GC sweeping takes longer). Running multiple AS instances on the same
server box are recommended in that case.
Could someone tell me how large the heap should be for a single JBoss AS 4.2 instance? 2,
4 or 8 GB? More? Less?
Any additional hint regarding production hardware for Seam/JBoss AS would be very
welcome.
Thanks.
