I'm struggling with the same problem.
<param-value>/tmp/</param-value> seemed to work. I thought that this was
<JBOSS_HOME>/server/<instance>/tmp/, but nothing was written there. I
saw later that UploadedFileDefaultMemoryImpl is used.
Anyway, it doesn't work on all systems...
Did you find a good configuration?
