I am going to assume that you already verified that com.winstant.ejb.SettingsEAOImpl is somewhere in you ear file, and that the jar file containing this class is listed in the application.xml file (or the jar is in the lib directory within the ear file). Have you tried using JDK 1.5? JBossAS 4.2.x is not qualified to run on JDK 6, and while some have been successful in doing this, I would at least like to eliminate that as being one of the possibilities for the problem.
