eh - where is it tied to a specific version ? We support Seam 1.2, Seam 2.0 and Seam 2.1 - of course various bugs have been fixed in these but the tooling works with all three. If you want to use Ant then fine, do that - but what do you want me to document besides what is already listed in Seam docs about how to use seam-gen ? Repeating what is in seam about seam-gen would just make sure our docs is even more tied to a specific version, right ?
