Regarding using VPC to redistribute - you can do that with JBoss AS without VPC. I simply zip up my working JBossAS directory, move the zip file elsewhere, unzip it, and run it. As long as the other PC has Java installed, I'm set to go. By the way, I usually do this to transfer a working JBossAS to either my laptop at home (running either XP or Fedora Core) or to my Linux PC at work. By the way, which JVM are you using?
