I move the client jar into the root of the .ear file, and marked it as an EJB module in the application.xml - Everything's working as expected now. I can't get the Seam interceptor working on my objectmodel-seam-client.jar but that's a post for a different forum. I have no idea why this didn't work the first time I tried it, maybe JBoss got "stuck" on the deployment and wasn't the exploded deploymen (i dunno, i've seen that happen before so its just a guess).
