I'm guessing something must have removed the node between steps 2 and 3.
The log you posted is not a JBoss Cache log, but some custom logging from a cache listener
which is of limited use. Specifically, I'd want to see the CacheLoaderInterceptor
logs and any eviction component logs at TRACE level.
