[jboss-user] [JBoss jBPM] - How to access process variables?

I defined an action handler that tries to access a process variable like this: Integer quant = (Integer) executionContext.getContextInstance().getVariable("quant"); But I get a null pointer exception. The variable "quant" was defined in the Form Controller of the process designer and I generated the form with the same tool. What am I missing? Thanks.
