Well yes, but it actually is the only portlet visible on the page at the time, strange to call render methods on non-visible portlets... Maybe this is vendor specific, I recall other portals not calling non-visible portlets. But maybe I can live with this when its a known feature :) The spec actually doesn't specifically address this so it may differ. Thanks.
