The above does not seem to be true.
When you deploy an EJB endpoint with

| <transport-guarantee>CONFIDENTIAL</transport-guarantee>
| </port-component>

jbossws generates a web.xml (have a look at the "Server Temp Dir") that uses
<transport-guarantee>CONFIDENTIAL</transport-guarantee>
From then onwards, your endpoint behaves like any other webapp that
uses CONFIDENTIAL.
