EJB3 doesn't have FlushMode.Never but an extension is provided by Hibernate.
Seam does this:
( (Session) entityManager.getDelegate() ).setFlushMode(FlushMode.NEVER);
(from org.jboss.seam.util.Persistence). So that should work.
