[jboss-user] [Beginners Corner] - JBoss high availability and clustering

I am relatively new to Jboss and am trying to work through all the posts and articles on Jboss clustering and high availability. I understand the nodes aspect, where one node goes down it switches over to another node, but what I really am trying to figure out is - is there a single point of failure, if any, with ha? For instance, two servers with jboss setup as two nodes - do they share one IP address, so if one node goes down the other kicks in? Does SSL complicate things?
