For the record: 1.3ALPHA1 was targeted at AS 4.2 and included JBoss EL. 1.3.0.BETA1 was *renamed* to 2.0.BETA due to the substantial refactoring (even if we had released a 1.3.BETA/GA it would have included these refactorings, but the name change reinforces this). You would be much much better off pushing for a 1.2.2 maintainance release that contained selected backports of fixes from trunk to the 1.2 series.
