Sure, that makes sense, you need to let JBossWS-CXF use its own servlet, which enables the JBoss - CXF integration. Btw there should be no need to add all that cxf and spring lib jars to your deployment war, unless you are trying to cope with special needs regarding which version to use, or things like that.
