Hi All,
I'm trying to write ftl files and invoke them in browser.Even I've referred
many URLS,I'm unable to do it.Can browser understand ftl format?My requirement is ftl
file result should not display in JBPM console.The User Interface must comes from ftl file
and it should be displayed in browser.How can i do it.Is it possible to display
UserInterface of ftl file in browser?Can you suggest me in this context..I'm using
JBPM5.0

http://freemarker.sourceforge.net/ http://freemarker.sourceforge.net/ should help you
understand what are freemarker templates. The jBPM console combines your process/usertask
ftl templates with the information of your process instance to generate the html that is
shown in the browser.

Thanks for your reply.
I shall write my requirement in more detail. What we are looking for is to integrate
Portal Application and JBPM together.
We will define our process in Guvrnor/JBPM and use .ftl files to create human tasks and
deploy the process.
To create/access the tasks assigned, the user should login into jBPM Console application.
We are looking at the option of opening the tasks directly from our portal application.To
acheive this, we don't want to create the GUIs(for human tasks) in Portal again.Is
there a way for us to open the human tasks UIs( .ftl files created for each human task) in
our Portal Application.

I'm pretty sure that you can, you will need to write a small portlet that go and look
for the FTL definition and renders it right? Obviously you will need to have your human
task server up and running in order to complete the interaction.

Thanks for the details. I can write a generic portlet to get the task details.
But i am unable to proceed after this, how do i open the correct ftl that is associated to
the task. Do you have any sample code or let me know the API that should i use to get the
access to the ftl files ? Please let me know.

You can take a look at the current jBPM-console implementation to see how it retrieves the
FTLs from guvnor and renders it. ( https://github.com/heiko-braun/bpm-console
https://github.com/heiko-braun/bpm-console)Then it's up to you to use the Portlets API
to write your portlet that contains the same logic that the jBPM console.

A simplified solution for what? you need to go inside the app and look where an FTL file
is being picked, in order to understand how to write a portlet that do that for you..
I recommend you to take some time to analyze the jbpm-console.

Hi Mauricio
I was always wanting to acheive this. But i have some different approach.
To acheive the above requirement, isn't it a good option to bypass the console login
and open the console home page from external webapplication.
We need to find a way to bypass the console login. Can you help on to give some
examples/APIs to acheive this?
In this case, do we have option to change the look&feel of the console UI so that it
can have the same appeal as our webapplication?
In my opinion if we acheive this, then this would be way simpler than trying to open the
.ftl files.
Please provide your feedback as which one of it would be a good approach.

Hi,
I got some errors while followed the below steps. Help me in solving this issue.
1) Downloaded the source code(zip file) from https://github.com/bpmc/bpm-console
https://github.com/bpmc/bpm-console.
2) Extracted in a folder (bpmc-bpm-console-1cf8710).
3) I run "mvn clean install" from the bpmc-bpm-console-1cf8710 folder.
4) I run "mvn package" from the bpmc-bpm-console-1cf8710 folder
5) After that the war file(gwt-console.war) was generated in target
folder(bpmc-bpm-console-1cf8710/gui/war/target)
6) I renamed the war file(gwt-console.war) to "jbpm-gwt-console.war" file
and i deployed the "jbpm-gwt-console.war" file in running jboss instance
(jboss/server/default/deploy),
i got some errors which i posted here.

Rajesh, as Tihomir suggest. you have the source code available so you can do whatever you
want witht the console. I suggest you to fork the project:
https://github.com/bpmc/bpm-console https://github.com/bpmc/bpm-console and start playing
with it. Looking at the code you must decide if it's better for you to just use the
APIs to adapt the console functionality to your applicaiton or to start modifying the
project to fit your needs. If your modifications are generic enough you can contribute
them to the master project later in the future.

Thanks for the response. I would definetly give feedback to the jbpm project, if i succeed
in the integration with our application.
In order to build the console, I am planning do the following steps
1. Build jbpm 5.2.0 from the source available at
http://sourceforge.net/projects/jbpm/files/jBPM%205/jbpm-5.2.0.Final/jbpm...
"http://sourceforge.net/projects/jbpm/files/jBPM%205/jbpm-5.2.0.Final/jbpm-5.2.0.Final-src.zip/download".
2. Upon successful building of jbpm5.2.0, I am planning to build the console from
the https://github.com/bpmc/bpm-console "https://github.com/bpmc/bpm-console"
and replace the corresponding console war files.
To do step-1, i have downloaded the code and used the following maven command "mvn
package". My build is failure. Please find the attached Error_Details.zip for the
errors. Please let me know how to resolve this error ? Once step-1 is resolved, i shall
proceed with step-2.

Just try to build the console, why you are building jBPM5 if you want to modify only the
console? By the way the jBPM5 Source code that contains the maven project descriptions to
build the distribution are also located in github: https://github.com/droolsjbpm/jbpm/
https://github.com/droolsjbpm/jbpm/
Fork the repository from there as you fork the BPM Console.

Hi Mauricio
I have skipped the JBPM Source Building and moved on to Building the jbpm console source
from the project:
https://github.com/bpmc/bpm-console https://github.com/bpmc/bpm-console";.
I have followed the below steps
1. download the zip and extracted in a seperate folder
(D:\Console\bpmc-bpm-console-1cf8710)
2. mvn clean install from this folder
3. renamed "gwt-console.war , gwt-console-server" that is generated in
D:\Console\bpmc-bpm-console-1cf8710\server\war\target &
D:\Console\bpmc-bpm-console-1cf8710\gui\war\target with versions and made a zip file
4. copied in the zip file into D:\jbpm-installer\lib folder.
5. I executed the below commands in jbpm_installer folder D:\jbpm-installer\
ant clean.demo
ant install.demo
ant start.demo
6. But i see the below erros in
"D:\jbpm-installer\jboss-as-7.0.2.Final\standalone\deployments" folders
jbpm-gwt-console-server.war.failed
jbpm-gwt-console.war.failed
drools-guvnor.war.failed
I am unable to open the console, because the deployment failed. Please let me know whether
I am missing some steps and help me out to resolve this problem.

I have Downloaded the jbpm-console sourcce Code from https://github.com/bpmc/bpm-console

I have followed the below steps
1. download the zip and extracted in a folder (bpmc-bpm-console-1cf8710)

Hi Mauricio,
As per suggestions from Tihomir and you,I've donwloaded source code from
https://github.com/bpmc/bpm-console https://github.com/bpmc/bpm-console,and build the war
file through maven as per instructions given in that link(Readme.txt).But,When I deploy
that war fie in JBOSS 5.1.0GA.I'm unable to open JBPM console,and the exceptio trace
in server log is.

Hi,
I'm trying to bypass the jbpm console login page, when i have seen and analyze
the bpm console src code, i found lots of java code. Each java class is related to another
class if i make any changes in one class and while build that whole package i got error
because those classes are directly or indirectly effecting to another class. Some of the
code i found related to this login form in LoginView.java. please can anybody suggest me
how to do this.
