Publish examples when released as "Project Examples" for JBoss Tools
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: SEAM-5
URL:
https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/SEAM-5
Project: Seam 3
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: Shared Examples
Reporter: Pete Muir
These can:
- apply fixes to the example when it is loaded by the user into Eclipse (for example,
they can modify the eclipse metadata)
- warn the user if some prerequisites aren't met (for example, having a JBoss AS 6
container available)
- display an "eclipse cheatsheet" which you can use to display a tutorial for
the example to the user
- specify a target container, which, if available, allows you to deploy and debug the
example in JBoss AS
The project example is packaged as a zip file which should contain the example sources and
could contain the project metadata (if not you can use the "fixes" to create it)
and the cheatsheet, and published to an http server.
We'll also need to create a "Project Example site" XML descriptor that lists
out all the examples you publish; this XML descriptor needs a "stable" URL, so
we recommend publishing it to
download.jboss.org. We need to document updating this as
part of the release process.
This also needs adding as something to test as part of the QA process.
