[jbossseam-issues] [JBoss JIRA] Created: (JBSEAM-1902) Cannot use Seam EntitySecurityListener and MDBs
by Mike Pettypiece (JIRA)
Cannot use Seam EntitySecurityListener and MDBs
-----------------------------------------------
Key: JBSEAM-1902
URL: http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBSEAM-1902
Project: JBoss Seam
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Security
Affects Versions: 2.0.0.BETA1
Reporter: Mike Pettypiece
After turning on Seam's EntitySecurityListener, the follow exception occurs when working with a @Restrict-annotated entity from a MDB.
java.lang.IllegalStateException: No active session context
at org.jboss.seam.security.Identity.instance(Identity.java:157)
at org.jboss.seam.security.EntitySecurityListener.postLoad(EntitySecurityListener.java:26)
...
There obviously isn't a session context in this case.
Seam probably shouldn't check security permissions when there is no active session context. As well it would be useful to be able to programatically turn off security on a per-Identity basis. Please see the referenced Forum link for more details.

[jbossseam-issues] [JBoss JIRA] Created: (JBSEAM-3414) More restrictive/descriptive data structure of the pages.xsd
by Arron Ferguson (JIRA)
More restrictive/descriptive data structure of the pages.xsd
------------------------------------------------------------
Key: JBSEAM-3414
URL: https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBSEAM-3414
Project: Seam
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: Build, Core, Documentation Issues, Documentation Translation, Examples
Environment: N/A (applies to all
Reporter: Arron Ferguson
Priority: Optional
The pages.xsd schema in its current form is not restrictive enough to be descriptive for those that are referencing the schema as a document/contract for what needs to go into pages.xml files. Because of this many errors can take place without the user knowing he has entered invalid data (invalid either into the value space or the lexical space).
The W3C XML Schema Recommendation allows for a rich set of constructs that can help define and restrict what data is allowed both in value space as well as lexical space. I have gone through and updated the pages-2.1.xsd XML schema file (from SVN) and have made changes to it and included it within this document.
Many of the changes that I've made include:
- adding type attributes to the Attribute elements (which helps the user to to know what type of value should be given to an attribute)
- the creation of more simple types to be used for attributes (e.g., http-error-codes)
- reuse (creating simple types to be reused)
- restricting values of attributes
I have not yet included any documentation (Peter, as per our conversation on the forum) yet because I think that this type of change should be done first and then document what's left. On a side note, I'm about 80% complete of an XSLT stylesheet that will create Javadoc-like documentation of the pages.xsd. This stylesheet uses the annotation/documentation elements for description as well it tries to describe the content models and what exactly all those elements and attributes mean. Essentially we're talking about self-documentation so that everyone is clear as to what this schema is about and how to create pages.xml files from it (just like how javadoc creates nice reference documentation complete with in-document examples). :)
There are a few issues yet left which are id values of certain element types. I've started off showing how uniqueness can be enforced (and it should be if there are framework rules that state this in the user guide) by requiring that conversation names be unique within a document. Note that this will only check within the document. This presents a problem since the JBoss Seam specification/guide allows multiple pages.xml files to exist. Seam developers will need to consider how to enforce this. One possibility is to add structure to the pages.xml file that contains a set of URLs that point to the other XML files and have Seam check conversation names within all the documents (so as to enforce uniqueness).
Anyways, here's the pages.xsd as I've seen fit to change it:

[jbossseam-issues] [JBoss JIRA] Created: (JBSEAM-3439) Bug in the seam-gen tool of seam
by djafaka (JIRA)
Bug in the seam-gen tool of seam
--------------------------------
Key: JBSEAM-3439
URL: https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBSEAM-3439
Project: Seam
Issue Type: Bug
Components: EJB3
Environment: Windows / Linux
Reporter: djafaka
Fix For: 2.0.0.GA
It seem that Seam gen doesn't generate some scope annotation like @Scope(ScopeType.CONVERSATION) for some master details relation.
In fact in my model i have 3 EJB3 entities:
Account
Operation (Many-To-One to Account/Many-to-One OperationType)
OperationType
When i try to select Operation search parameter, the resulting operation is not correct, the parameter is still reinitialized and the corresponding result list is not correct.
I found a solution in the code source generation of class OperationList with adding @Scope(ScopeType.CONVERSATION)

Fix For: 2.0.3.CR2, 2.1.0.CR1
Currently, the ModelValidator behaves unlike the standard JSF validators in that it does not provide an indexed message parameter equivalent to the value of the input's label attribute. Such a value is essential when messages cannot be displayed adjacent to the input component on the page.
Here is an example of an input component that declares a label:
<h:inputText id="name" value="#{person.name}" label="Name:">
<s:validate/>
</h:inputText>
Here is an example of a Hibernate Validator message key that uses this label:
validator.length={0} length must be between {min} and {max}
And here is what would be displayed had the validation failed:
Name: length must be between 0 and 20
Note that the label parameter would occupy the first and only indexed placeholder, {0}.

[jbossseam-issues] [JBoss JIRA] Created: (JBSEAM-2469) add postback flag to page actions
by Dan Allen (JIRA)
add postback flag to page actions
---------------------------------
Key: JBSEAM-2469
URL: http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBSEAM-2469
Project: JBoss Seam
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: Core
Affects Versions: 2.0.1.CR1
Reporter: Dan Allen
Assigned To: Dan Allen
Fix For: 2.0.x
Page actions are incredibly useful, but sometimes they can get in the way during a postback. I would like to see a postback attribute added to the <action> tag that can be used to disable the action on postback. It's possible using a conditional, but it is ugly and a lot of typing.
Here is the logic that would go into Pages.java
private boolean isPostBack(FacesContext facesContext)
{
return facesContext.getExternalContext().getRequestParameterMap().
containsKey(ResponseStateManager.VIEW_STATE_PARAM);
}
The conditional alternative would be:
<action execute="#{component.action}" if="#{empty param['javax.faces.ViewState']}"/>
