[gsoc] Mobile Document Collaboration App

Hi All, My name is Nityata Nagendra Kumar and I am grad student at UCI. I have extensive experience in HTML5, Javascript, PhoneGap and JQuery. [gsoc] Gsoc Project : Simple Certificate Management System

Hi there, I am a final year undergraduate studying computer science and engineering at University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka I am interested in the proposed project Simple Certificate Management System as I have some prior knowledge on java security architecture. During my internship I was working on a project to implement a multi-tenant security manager using java security Policy. Therefore I like to learn about java key store and at the same time to contribute to JBoss Community. The project description is self explanatory. [gsoc] [GSoC 2013] Questions regarding "Demo: Implementing native features in mobile applications"

Hello I am Bhargav, a Computer Science undergraduate student from India. I am an avid mobile app developer. I worked on Phonegap apps during GSoC 2012 with Apache Software Foundation and have developed many Windows Phone apps. I am also well versed with native android app development. I have developed an Android app[1] for Exotel Techcom Pvt. Ltd. and it is being used by its clientele of over 2000 firms. My github account[2] will provide much more details about my developer expertise. In my search to find an organization that has challenging problem statements in Mobile application areas, I found jBoss and was very much interested in this demo project where native mobile application features have to be added. While I was trying to come up with a feasible solution and plan to write a good proposal, I got a few questions. - Could I get a link to existing app's repo so that I can get an idea about the level of implementation? - Currently there are phonegap plugins for geolocation, camera and photo management and contacts handling. But I don't understand what you mean by Social Integration. Is it like logging into Facebook/Twitter to post into them? I think I would get a better idea about it if I get to look at existing app. I would be very much obliged if I am provided with answers to these questions and whatever questions that may arise in future as they will help me in writing a good proposal and in turn get chosen to jBoss. [gsoc] (no subject)

Hi again, Thanks to all for your replies. They have been really useful. Well, the last application I implemented is a Vuze plugin for detection of fake content in the BitTorrent environment which was made official ( http://plugins.vuze.com/plugin_details.php?plugin=TorrentGuard<http://webcartero02.uc3m.es/hordeNG/services/go.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fplug...>). I am afraid my job in that project is over so I cannot provide you with the git repository. However, I have attached a pdf that acknowledges my participation in that project. I have already joined Trailblazer SIG and Infinispan. I am really looking forward to contributing and getting involved as much as possible. BR, David.

[gsoc] Student Introduction

Hi, I am David Farache, a last year Communications Systems Engineering student doing a specialization in satellite communications who is really looking forward to become a gsoc student. I have just seen both 'Implementing native features' and 'Implement a ticket reservation system using Infinitspan' task and I am truly interested in it. Java is my main language and I am quite comfortable developing tools at a application level as I've worked before in several development projects. I have never worked before with Infinitspan so I would prefer doing this project as it sounds more challenging. There is something I'd like to know: is there some way to prove I am truly interested in the project? Something like showing some of my previous work, or maybe doing a shorter task before gsoc application begins? Best regards, David.

[gsoc] ShrinkWrap GSOC

Hi Everyone! My name is Marcos Roriz, I'm a grad (PhD) student @ PUC-Rio ('the university that created lua :-)') in Brazil. I'm working with distributed computing, more specifically with mobile computing. I'm very interested in working with ShrinkWrap, I have participated in the GSOC 2011 edition, where I worked with the GNU project. I'm gonna be honest, I don't have enough knowledge about ShrinkWrap *yet*! But I think it's a facinating project. I'm really interested on participating in this year edition. I'm interested in the idea (that you guys listed) to allow shrinkwrap to export to RPM, ISO, RAR, BZIP (maybe DEB?) formats. I already emailed mr. Andrew Lee Rubinge, the potential mentor for this project.
