Google Summer of Code Introduction
by Daisy Nkweteyim
Hello community,
I am interested in working with JBoss for the Google Summer of Code.
>From the ideas page, I found the project "Provide test scheduling for
large test suites" to be up my alley.
I've had some experience with contributing to open source before and
I've also created test scripts for regression testing. I am
comfortable with technologies like Selenium, TestNG, JUnit and Maven.
Could I have some more details concerning this project like work which
has been previously done?
Thank you.

My own idea for GSoC 2016
by Pawan Pal
Hi,
I am 3rd year undergraduate student pursuing B.Tech in Information
Technology and Mathematical innovation from Cluster Innovation Centre,
University of Delhi.
I have been developing android application from 2 years and a good
experience on various libraries. This is my github
<https://github.com/pa1pal> profile.
I have my own project idea which is *"Mouse control using hand gestures"
using real time image processing through camera in android phone*. I want
to do this project in in GSOC under your mentor ship. I have already done
some work on OpenCV for hand gesture recognition.
Are you taking projects other than listed?
Thanks.

Students interested in GSoC 16 with JBoss Community
by Giriraj Sharma
Hi all,
JBoss GSoC 2016 ideas page[1] lists all the participating projects and
their corresponding ideas/proposals. *Important information(mailing list,
IRC channel, project site/ source/ jIRA/ documentation/wiki etc.) for each
participating project is also listed on ideas Page.*
*Students interested to work on any proposal(s) should subscribe to the
corresponding project mailing lists and go through its documentation/ wiki/
source code base.* The ideas may be research based and may require student
to think about *Proof of Concept *before design/implementation. Also, they
can contact assigned mentors on respective IRC channel/mailing-list keeping
in mind IRC/mailing-list etiquette's. It will be in best interests of
students to have a good feel about the idea/feature/project-documentation
in general before getting in touch with respective community.
Potential students must also prefer forking the respective source code and
look into the respective project's JIRA for small/minor to medium level
bugs and try to fix them. They can also have an overview of the respective
source code and its modules. Its better in case you have a look and feel of
the source. It is advisable to contact assigned mentor/channel/mailing list
of respective project before student(s) start working upon any feature/bug
or enhancement.
*Extreme beginners must learn git (basics, forced push, rebased pull,
interactive rebase, squash, branch etc.) preferably on any linux flavor, if
not already. *:)

JBoss Community - Google Summer of Code 2016 - Mobile (Windows)
by Francesco Meggetto
Dear all,
Recently, I have came across Google Summer of Code, and I am really interested on contributing on your projects.
I found the “new Windows version of the App” under the idea of “Push Notifications demo case for Unified Push Server” quite interesting and it matches my background. I am an Android and Windows developer on my spare time. I am not an absolute expert, but I am willing to learn from all of you!
Could you please clarify me what exactly you would like to have? On your list, it only says “would be nice to have”, but I am not quite sure it you want a new Windows app (similar to the iOS one showed on Youtube) or more on expanding libraries and get closer to what you offer for iOS/Android?
Finally, will you be looking after for a Windows Phone app, or an Universal Windows App to cover Tablets and PCs?
Thank you in advance!
Best,
Francesco
