[JBossWS] - JBossWS 1.2 (JAX-WS) and WS-eventing

there is a tutorial on how to implement ws eventing for JBossWS 1.0.x (JAX-RPC) but I am not sure if the same procedure is the same for JBossWS 1.2. Can any of the JBoss people provide some hints or documentation (or a simple sample using annotations) for WS-eventing? [JBoss Seam] - MockHttpSession

I'm using Seam 1.1GA with ICEFaces 1.5.2 and I'm trying to store a string in my HTTPSession. Can someone tell me the steps I need to store a variable in the session and later retrieve it ? I've tried storing it using: | ServletContext context = new MockServletContext(); | HttpSession session = new MockHttpSession(context); | session.setAttribute("user", user); | And tried retrieving it with: | ServletContext context = new MockServletContext(); | HttpSession session = new MockHttpSession(context); | User stored = (User) session.getAttribute("user"); | But, when I go to get it it's null. Any help would be appreciated. You're going the wrong way about it -- the idea is that the beans use the java:comp/env/jdbc/bps lookup name that is mapped to the app server's environment (arbitrary datasource name). You don't need to change your datasource configuration or jndi-name, what you want to do is configure jboss.xml for your beans that maps the java:comp/env/jdbc/bps lookup to the datasource JNDI name binding (these are defined in the standard EJB xml as resource reference entries and then mapped in jboss.xml to app server's datasource deployments). It's not a bug, it's a case of misunderstanding/abusing the spec provided mechanisms. Introductory guides books on J2EE using JBoss as example deployment environment will give you more details. If you need them separate, make the separate. Inject the business components into the web components. Easy. Of course, 95% of the projects that do this find that their web components are just shallow proxies to their business components and they just wasted time and complicated their architecture for no clear business gain. Actually, in a Seam application, what you generally HOPE happens is that your presentation logic mostly goes away leaving you primarily with just business components. If you follow the instructions in the distro to create an installation based on a clean JBoss 4.0.x installation, all you should need to do then is specify the classloading domain in your EAR and it should work.
