[JBossWS] - Re: setting context root for EJB based web services

I am assuming you are using JBoss 4.2.2 or atleast JBossWS 2.0.1. If that is true you can set the context root using the following annotation: import org.jboss.wsf.spi.annotation.WebContext; ..... @WebContext(contextRoot="/YourContextRoot") The WebContext class is in the jbossws-spi.jar in the client folder of your jboss 4.2.2 installation. [Installation, Configuration & DEPLOYMENT] - Installation Troubles

Hi there, IÂ´m a new user, not a developer, just a System Configuration Analyst and I found some problems during the installation process of Jboss. I followed all the steps in order to have a clean installation of this powerful tool. After that, In the server where jboss was installed it runs with the http://localhost:8080 perfectly. My problem begins when I try to see the server from outside, I mean, from another server or just a client. I said: http://10.79.1.83:8080 or http://sige-prueba.mf.gov.ve and nothing happens. The jboss server IP address is in the hosts (either windows or linux, we use linux server with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 and windows XP and linux fedora clients) and the result is the same. Thanks for pointing me in right direction. I did have the jar file in lib directory, it was just in wrong path. It was in /server/all/lib instead of /server/default/lib. This was the question I always had. In what situtation do you use all and default directory under server ? [JBoss AOP] - JBoss AOP thinking

AOP in our application: We work with jboss4.2 and ejb3 (JPA). We use in AOP in order to intercept model methods (again the model is hibernate entities), only in the server side we need to be notify when a setter on model call has been called. In order to do that we define pointcuts on our model classes (around 60 classes). >From the following reasons we use in load time weaving (and not compile time): 1. JBoss 1.5 has no maven plugin. 2. The pointcuts belong to the model project (which is lower than the server project) and the interceptors are located on the server project. The problem was - startup time!!!!!! When using loadtime the jboss startup time was around 6 minutes against 2 minutes without load time weaving. We follow the performance section and change the â prune,exclude,optimized (I didnât understand âbootclasspath Vs. JDK5 âjavaagentâ recommendation) 6 minutes itâs a lot of time!!!! Especially when you work in rapid development. Other issues that I encounter are: 1. Jboss aop and hibernate â not always work together. 2. Debugging. 3. Hot swap â when I work in remote debugging I use to change my code during the debug, but in case that this class was weaved by JBoss aop I get en exception that the class cannot swapped. >From those reasons I think to give up and to use in âsource weavingâ , means that when I generate my model sources (I have a tool that does this ) I will plant in the setter a call to a proxy that will be implement only in the server. I love JBoss-aop . I think that it more convenient from Aspectj. I choose to use it in our application, and I will appreciate if you can give your own point of view. Actually I tried it both ways. I started with the ear file in the deploy directory and got the deploy error. Then I removed all my apps from the deploy directory and made sure JBoss came up without error. Then I copied the ear file into the deploy directory and witnessed the same deploy error. Oh well. Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately now we are going to have to fall back to JBoss 4.0.4GA for our app because of an issue we are having with 4.2.2GA (which I don't understand and no one has been able to shed light on). I have some more info. If found the line of code that is allocating the 1.6gb byte[]. BasicConnectionTable.run():577 | 575: len=in.readInt(); | 576: if(len > buf.length) | 577: buf=new byte[len]; | So you were correct it would appear that it is recieving a bad packet of some sort which is identifying it's length incorrectly. Can you provide any insights as to what if any jgroups code might be attempting to send to the socket this code is listening on? Or where this bad packet might be coming from?
