I've not seen it done like that (same interface for both local/remote) ... try making your DAO layer local only. I'm not sure how you have things setup if you will get a local or remote interface injected.
I think if it's the remote interface your entities will be serialized and thus detached.
I've things setup like:
@Remote
| public interface AddressManagerRemote extends AddressManagerInterface {
| }
| ...
| @Local
| public interface AddressManagerLocal extends AddressManagerInterface {
| }
| ...
| @Stateless
| @Remote(AddressManager.class)
| @Local(AddressManagerLocal.class)
| public class AddressManagerBean implements AddressManagerRemote {
| }
|
Then I can choose to use the local interface if required (in my SLSB's etc).

[Installation, Configuration & DEPLOYMENT] - Issue with deploying to JBoss 5.0.0Beta4

I can not get my applications to deploy to JBoss 5.0.0Beta. These are the same applications that I was running on JBoss 4.2.2GA.
I saw this thread http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=127908 on the same issue but he said he resolved it by getting rid of hibernate objects. I have previously removed all hibernate involvement from my code so that solution doesn't apply to me.
Is this a problem with 5.0.0 and is it known, being worked, or have a solution/workaround. I'm trying to get up on 5.0 to see if it fixes another issue that I am having with 4.2.2GA.
This is most of the stack trace I see. This happens when I have the applications in the deploy directory on startup, or if I allow JBoss to startup without the applications and then copy them into the deploy directory.
