Peter I did this. I edit the .bash_profile in my home directory. You do need a jndi.properties file to provide the proper initial context. And the client's classpath must include jbossall-client.jar. If you install Sun's JDK 1.5.0_16, you will probably find it at /usr/java/jdk1.5.0_16. Set JAVA_HOME to that directory (I mentioned this also in my previous post). One more thing: The attempted SLSB lookup that is failing is in the @PostContruct method of the Seam class that is an @Startup class. But, all indications are the SLSB it is trying to lookup is already loaded and should be found with the jndi name I am using. What version of JBossAS are you using? Also, are you using JBossAS or JBossEAP? EAP is available only from the support site if you purchase a subscription. Anyway, JBossAS does not have the jmx invoker locked down. If it is locked down, you or someone else must have locked it down. In that case I would not know the exact file (if any) to look at. If you have JBossEAP, jmx invoker is locked down out-of-the-box, but there are no user ids set up out-of-the-box so there is no way to log in. The default configuration for JBossEAP uses the jmx-console-users.properties files in the server/xxx/conf/props directory to store the user id an password. Thanks for the reply. When I read it I thought this may be the answer. But, it was not. I have since realized this additional info is relevant: It is an ear deployment that contains my jar and war file (now listed in that order in application.xml) The war file contains no classes, all are in the jar. There is a Seam class that is annotated with @Startup and it tries to lookup the SLSB which fails. I can clearly see in the log that the SLSB is successfully installed before the problematic Seam component load starts. In the log output the jndi name is what I expect. I am wondering if I need to move some classes into the war. Peter, you're totally right... I have one problem. I follow your advices step by step. I installed jdk1.5.0_16 with JBoss 4.2.2.GA, but when i was verify if the installation was ok using the command "/usr/sbin/alternatives --config java or javac" the result is this: [thiago@xxxx ~]$ /usr/sbin/alternatives --config java There is 1 program that provides 'java'. Selection Command ----------------------------------------------- *+ 1 /usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.4.2-gcj/bin/java How can i change this? Like you tell me, i need to refresh this with the SUN JDK 1.5.0_16, but i don't know how can i do this. I will need your help for more one time. Thanks. Thiago.
