TransactionSynchronizationRegistry should be registered in addition to TransactionManager and UserTransaction. It is unclear why UserTransaction is proxied whilst TransactionManager is not. If the inconsistency is intentional, the reason should be documented. The example uses Synchronization rather than XAResource. Whilst this makes for simpler example code, it is not fully transactional.
