posting my query again and hoping to get an answer soon. Hi All, I am trying to figure out when to use Sequential Mode. Also, what does SequentailAgenda.SEQUENTIAL and SequentialAgenda.DYNAMIC means. rule "asset > 1000" when s : Security( status == "NOT VALIDATED", country == "USA", asset > 1000) then s.setStatus("VALIDATED"); end rule "asset < 1000 and no_of_shares > 150000" when s : Security( status == "NOT VALIDATED", country == "USA", asset < 1000, no_of_share > 150000) then s.setStatus("VALIDATED"); end There are 50 more such rules. 90000 such Security objects will be inserted in WM as facts and the rules applied. The moment a Security becomes VALIDATED all other Activations on the same fact should be cancelled. Is this example a candidate for Sequential Mode. What difference will it make if I put the set the SequentialAgenda to SEQUENTIAL or DYNAMIC. Thanks. Decision table keywords

Do the keywords such as NAME actually function in 4.07? I added a NAME column to the sample spreadsheet that uses the message class, but the rules continue to be named HelloWorld_11, etc. Sorry to be dense but on the other hand, have not seen any example spreadsheets that use some of these keywords. More than one agenda group for a rule?

I was wondering (hoping) that there is a way to put a rule into more than one agenda group? I've tried writing: rule "example" agenda-group "process x stuff" agenda-group "process y stuff" when (blah, blah, blah) then (blah, blah, blah) end But while the compiler has no problems with this it really only includes the rule in the last agenda-group listed. Declaring an entry-point? (drools 5 M1)

Hey, I am playing around with the new CEP features in 5 M1 and primarily working off of the blog posts and API doc. I have some patterns that pull from a stream: $candle : Candle( $instrument : instrumentSpecification ) from entry-point "candles" I have my entry point in the WM: candlesEntryPoint = this.session.getWorkingMemoryEntryPoint("candles"); I have also defined Candle to be an event in my rule.package file: import org.test.Candle declare Candle @role(event) end When I execute my sesson/getWorkingMemoryEntryPoint code above, I get a null back for the entry point and thus can't insert the event (Candle). The API docs for the getWorkingMemoryEntryPoint state that I need to define an entry point in the rules file? Is that the above part in the rule.package part or is that some other declaration? If that is a different declaration, is there some documentation what that would look like? The way I currently interpret the declare part is that I am designating my Candle object to be an event rather than a fact. Does that indirectly also declare an entry point? problem escaping quote in eval.

Hello, I'm trying to construct a rule in drool V4 that contains an eval with a literal string that may contain embedded quotes. I've tried escaping the quote but get the error below. Note that the \" works outside an eval. rule "evalList2" when Var( eval( "tt".equals("t\"t"))) then System.out.println( "evalList2" ); end Error: java.lang.NullPointerException: at org.drools.rule.PredicateConstraint.createContextEntry(PredicateConstraint.java:201) at org.drools.reteoo.AlphaNode.createMemory(AlphaNode.java:230) ... It looks like a change was made to V3 to fix this but doesnt appear to work in V4, does anyone know how to construct this type of rule?
