Hi,
I have a number of complex business objects which contain lists of objects
which also contain lists of objects
For example:
public class Object1 {
private List<Object2> objList;
private Object3 object3;
}
public class Object2 {
private List<Object4> objList2;
private Object5 object5;
}
How would I test my rules against all the objects in objList2?

Will the 'from' CE iterate over each object within objList2?
for example
when
$o1 : Object1()
$o2 : Object2(objList.field1 != null) from $o1.object2
then
#do something
end
or will i need to flatten out each list and deal with each object
separately?

Apologies as i wasn't clear that Object2 is defined and created within
Object1.
Therefore to get to objList2, i need to flatten Object1, which means i need
to insert each object of objList1 in the list separately, but some of my
objects contain many objects which contain many lists of objects so it would
be rather difficult to flatten every single object out.
Is there a way that i can use the from method to cycle through lists within
lists?

There was an error in the sample code i posted earlier.
objList should have been objList2
$o2 : Object2(objList2.field1 != null) from $o1.object2
this also returns the error "unable to resolve property: field1"

For some reason i cant access attributes deeper than object 2.
What am i doing wrong?

I assume that objList2 is a collection? If so how can you access a field
on a collection, you can't. $o1.object2 is returning an object
not a collection, which means it'll pattern match against that single
object. Remember I said that the 'from' expression must
return a collection, if necessary you'll need to chain the 'from's.
this also returns the error "unable to resolve property:
