Even when you get the exception?
In other words, do you only have a single thread manipulating the
Knowledgebase
in your production environment?
I would implement Before/AfterKnowledgeBaseUnlocked and
Before/AfterKnowledgePackageAdded
to be 100% sure.
If the race condition can be excluded, I'll focus on the rebuild process
