This occurs when the second level BQT1.SmallA is a view:
SELECT intkey FROM BQT1.SmallA AS A WHERE INTKEY IN (SELECT CONVERT(STRINGKEY, INTEGER) FROM BQT1.SMALLA AS A
The original fix was done assuming SmallA was a source table. So this could go either way in terms of being considered a new or existing issue.

Is kerberos login at Teiid JDBC level validated, before the passthough is used? This is verified working feature before, the only change this did is to not to invalidate the ticket, such that the connection can be reused. Need more details as to is it failing first time, or worked first time then failed? what were the test script.
