Hi, I have recently tried turning on SQL comments in hibernate 3.2.6.ga. However, I found that our database (informix 7.31) did not support SQL where the comment was at the start of the comment. Instead, the comment needed to be after the SQL. For example: /* not accepted by informix 7.31*/ select * from systables; select * from systables /* accepted by informix 7.31*/ Because of this, I have added a method to the Dialect for adding comments: /** * Add a comment to the SQL string. * * @param sql StringBuffer holding the SQL. * @param comment Comment to add to the SQL. May be null. */ public void addCommentToSql(StringBuffer sql, String comment) { if (StringHelper.isNotEmpty(comment)) sql.insert(0, "/* " + comment + " */ "); } Thus, the default implementation provides the same functionality as before. However, derived Dialects may override this method to add the comment in a different location. It is also possible to add additional comments in the derived Dialect. In our case, we also add the Java thread ID. I have included a complete patch for this change for hibernate 3.2.6.GA. Please consider its inclusion in Hibernate. Thanks, Daniel.

H.Search: EventListenerRegister

Hello all, I am currently doing some cleanup in the EventListenerRegister used in Search, but I'm needing some clarifications (and please don't make any changes to it). the code checks for the presence of a FullTextIndexEventListener on each listener type, but doesn't want to use "isAssignableFrom" to let the user subclass (this is said by a comment there). BUT it checks for a listener of type FullTextIndexEventListener.class OR any direct extension, to recognize also the now deprecated FullTextIndexCollectionEventListener. Also the check is not done on both the class and it's subclass in each case. What is the purpose exactly? if a user creates an extension and registers it, shouldn't we have to skip registration? so IMHO we should actually use "isAssignableFrom". If you prefer to register our own listener anyway, maybe we should check for the exact type FullTextIndexEventListener.class and FullTextIndexCollectionEventListener.class (not any subtype). regards, Sanne

Hibernate Search : missing solr dependency in maven POM file ?

Hello, As one told me hibernate-search maven support should be considered as an Alpha version. So as I am using maven and hibernate-search 3.1.0Beta1 and trying to make it work I'd like to point out that this dependency is apparently missing (for me) : <dependency> <groupId>org.hibernate.apache.lucene.solr</groupId> <artifactId>apache-solr-analyzer</artifactId> <version>1.2.0</version> </dependency> If I don't include this dependency in my Maven POM I get the following error : java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/solr/analysis/TokenizerChain So if it can help... Hibernate Core 3.3.0.SP1 release

3.3 and maven-eclipse-plugin

All, I just brought down a fresh copy of Branch_3_3, compiled and then ran mvn eclipse:eclipse. The Eclipse projects were created mostly fine and they all imported into Ganymede. However, there's an issue with each module's dependency on hibernate-core and hibernate-testing. The maven-eclipse-plugin creates these as project dependencies instead of jar dependencies (probably because they are all in the same group ID?), and it creates them with the assumption that the project names are the same as the artifact ID. This is in fact not the case. Each module is broken because its reference to core and testing are looking for hibernate-core and hibernate-testing respectively. Of course this is a quick thing to fix but it means that the plugin doesn't work properly. Does anyone know if this is a bug? Is there some way to hint to Maven that the dependencies should use a different directory than what the artifact ID specifies? Thanks, Chris
