Just a FYI if anyone is looking into the crash issue when attaching a
debugger to a HostController.
It appears that if the first breakpoint is set in the
HostControllerBootstrap stage of start up then debugging works.
However if a breakpoint is set for after the domain controller
initialisation has occurred then the JVM will crash.
So something in between these two steps seems to be causing it.

Just debugging a standalone local server using remote debugging has been
crashing for a while on a variety of platforms for me. I am going to try
to submit a bug report now based on the beta2 release as I cannot make
anything from the crash dump file.

BTW I found that I could only reproduce this when using Eclipse as the
debugger. So it has to be somewhat related to how it acts as a client.

I just tried reproducing this again, and now it is not crashing on mac
using the current as7 trunk (not sure it is a complete build though). I
know the mac java install was updated recently via the software update
tool, so perhaps there is a fix in the 1.6.0_24 base version:

java full version "1.6.0_24-b07-334"
I have been seeing the crash using intellij on a mac, connecting to both
mac, fedora, and rhel based servers.

On Fedora I am currently on update 24 for the JDK: -
java version "1.6.0_24"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_24-b07)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 19.1-b02, mixed mode)
From other comments I have seen I thin the crashes of standalone have
been a lot more sporadic than the crashed when debugging the host
controller process in a domain set up.

For me my current crashes are IntelliJ and I think Heiko had issues
yesterday with IntelliJ.
Using jdb however does not cause a crash - just a pain manipulating
breakpoints by hand after relying on an IDE for so long ;-)
