[JBoss JIRA] Created: (JBCLUSTER-287) Make it compatible with JDK 1.4 runtimes

Make it compatible with JDK 1.4 runtimes
----------------------------------------
Key: JBCLUSTER-287
URL: https://jira.jboss.org/browse/JBCLUSTER-287
Project: JBoss Clustering
Issue Type: Feature Request
Security Level: Public (Everyone can see)
Components: Hibernate-Cache-Provider
Reporter: Galder Zamarreno
Assignee: Galder Zamarreno
>From Alejandro Guizar:
"As part of my work with JBPM-2916 [1] I applied the suggestions from
your JBoss Cache 1.4 based Hibernate 3.2 cache provider guide [2] with
positive results. Thanks for this initiative. I am sure many projects
beside mine have benefited from it.
The only problem I hit with the cache provider is that it depends on JDK
1.5. jBPM 3 is still tied to JDK 1.4 due to customer requirements. In an
effort to work around this limitation, I checked out the source code,
removed the few JDK 1.5 specific calls in the codebase and installed to
my local repo.
Nicely enough my tests with JDK 1.4, JBoss AS 4.0.5 and the rebuilt
hibernate-jbc-cacheprovider 1.0.1 passed. The question is whether you
would be willing to accept the attached patch that restores
compatibility with JDK 1.4.
Note that incorporating this patch does not force developers to install
and build with JDK 1.4. All it does is set the compiler source and
target to 1.4 and replace the calls to APIs specific to JDK 1.5."

[JBoss JIRA] Created: (JBAS-8228) JBoss Messaging Enterprise Guide Needs
by Jared Morgan (JIRA)
JBoss Messaging Enterprise Guide Needs
--------------------------------------
Key: JBAS-8228
URL: https://jira.jboss.org/browse/JBAS-8228
Project: JBoss Application Server
Issue Type: Bug
Security Level: Public (Everyone can see)
Components: JMS (JBossMQ)
Affects Versions: JBossAS-5.1.0.GA
Reporter: Jared Morgan
Assignee: Adrian Brock
Priority: Critical
Fix For: JBossAS-5.1.0.GA
I need a section added to the JBoss Messaging User Guide in order to meet a requirement for the JBoss Common Criteria certification for JBoss EAP 5.1.
The sections identified below by the CC evaluators relates to an inclusion from the HTML community documentation for JBoss Messaging 2.0.0.
http://docs.jboss.org/jbossmessaging/docs/usermanual-2.0.0.beta1/html/sec...
The parts from this link that require incorporation specifically for certification purposes are "30.5. JAAS Security Manager" and "30.5.1. Example". I think mention of "30.6 JBoss AS Security Manager" should also be incorporated, however seeing that it relates to EAP (and references an XML config file in the EAP directory structure) it might not be appropriate to incorporate EAP info in the Messaging guide.
>From what I've seen of the enterprise version, these sections should be inserted into the Configuration chapter of the Messaging User Guide.
Upon deeper investigation, there doesn't seem to be any information about JBoss Messaging Security in the Messaging User Guide (scroll up to the top of the link - this is where the security stuff starts). Might be worth raising another ticket to have all this information incorporated, or just bash it in as part of this ticket?
The evaluator has also suggested that a graphic (attached) could also be refactored using RH standards to assist the reader to understand how it all hangs together. It has been verified as being correct for the latest version.
