[JBoss JIRA] (WFLY-5480) SPEC JMS 2007 benchmark fails with AMQ214013: Failed to decode packet
by Clebert Suconic (JIRA)
Clebert Suconic commented on WFLY-5480:
---------------------------------------
This was likely caused by the lack of back pressure flow control. I would try again with 1.2.0 (or we also posted these changes into 1.1.0-wildfly fork). If this is still an issue we will take a look.

[JBoss JIRA] (WFLY-5822) Clustering performance regression in ejbremote-dist-sync scenario
by Richard Achmatowicz (JIRA)
Richard Achmatowicz edited comment on WFLY-5822 at 1/9/16 11:07 AM:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
With regard to remote accesses of keys:
7.0.0 jobs:
- run with the Byteman rule RetrieveFromRemoteSource which checks for invocations of the method BaseDistributionInterceptor.retrieveFromRemoteSource
- output found for this rule in the job output for random cluster nodes (in other words, on one run, perf18 has to remotely retrieve a key, on another run, perf21 has to retrieve a remote key)
- because this is a stress test and failures are not triggered, unless there is an ISPN rebalance for reasons other than failure, the node with the remote key will have to make that extra invocation on every access to that key
6.4.0 jobs:
- run with the Byteman rule RetrieveFromRemoteSource which checks for invocations of the method BaseDistributionInterceptor.retrieveFromRemoteSource
- no output found for this rule in the job output for any cluster node
MOre investigation to follow.

> Compared to EAP 6, all SYNC scenarios have the same/better performance except of this one, wonder why?
> Compare these results:
> stress-ejbremote-dist-sync
> 7.0.0.ER2: [throughput|http://jenkins.mw.lab.eng.bos.redhat.com/hudson/job/eap-7x-str...]
> 6.4.0.GA: [throughput|http://jenkins.mw.lab.eng.bos.redhat.com/hudson/job/eap-6x-str...]
> ---------------------------------------
> Just for comparison: ejbremote REPL_SYNC scenario *performs well* on the other hand:
> stress-ejbremote-repl-sync
> 7.0.0.ER2: [throughput|http://jenkins.mw.lab.eng.bos.redhat.com/hudson/job/eap-7x-str...]
> 6.4.0.GA: [throughput|http://jenkins.mw.lab.eng.bos.redhat.com/hudson/job/eap-6x-str...]

[JBoss JIRA] (JGRP-2000) Output of ProtocolStack.printProtocolSpecAsXML() cannot be used as a protocol stack without manual modifications
by Bela Ban (JIRA)
Bela Ban resolved JGRP-2000.
----------------------------
Resolution: Won't Fix
If you come up with a simple fix, please submit a PR and I'll be happy to apply it. Meanwhile, I'm closing this issue.
> Output of ProtocolStack.printProtocolSpecAsXML() cannot be used as a protocol stack without manual modifications
> ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
>
> Key: JGRP-2000
> URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JGRP-2000
> Project: JGroups
> Issue Type: Bug
> Affects Versions: 3.6.4
> Reporter: Jim Thomas
> Assignee: Bela Ban
> Priority: Minor
> Fix For: 3.6.7
>
>
> The output of printProtocolSpecAsXML does not contain the pbcast package prefix for NACKACK2, GMS, STATE, etc. so the load fails due to class load failure.
> Suggest either add org.jgroups.protocols.pbcast to the protocol loading search or write protocol names with full classpath when printing the spec.
> Might it also make sense to skip writing out deprecated parameters?
> Reason: I'm generating my protocol stack programmatically because some of the parameter values are determined at run time. In order to facilitate some experimentation with timeouts/retries/etc. I decided to temporarily use an xml file which I first generate by writing out the stack to an xml file which we can tweak the settings for subsequent runs. Since every member has a unique protocol stack keeping the edits to a minimum is helpful. (Maybe using property variables would be a better approach for me?)

Bela Ban commented on JGRP-2000:
--------------------------------
OK, so I changed the code to print the fully qualified names of all protocols. Re {{GMS.membership_change_policy}}: I didn't want to add another attribute, so I ended up *not* changing this.
As I mentioned before, this method is not really suited to generate XML that's to be consumed as a spec for a new channel. It is only meant to show the values of all protocols in XML format.
