A short update. Actually, setting the source port to something above 1024 caused another issue. Modcluster will of course re-use that source port on every connection, and if the previous connection is still open (port in use) you will get an error message. So it's better to set the source port to undefined using jboss-cli:
/socket-binding-group=ha-sockets/remote-destination-outbound-socket-binding=<binding-name>:undefine-attribute(name=source-port)
Then random source ports will be used (and above 1024) for each connection modcluster creates.

The {{getCredentialAcquireSupport()}} method should never return {{null}}; if it does, then an NPE seems like the correct behavior. The only way I could see that happening though is if a RealmIdentity implementation is set up to return {{null}}.
But I do see that org.wildfly.security.auth.realm.ldap.LdapSecurityRealm.LdapRealmIdentity#getCredentialAcquireSupport() can return null, and that's definitely an error, which could lead to this NPE being triggered.

I had to set my entire class path in an environment variable. I'm not sure how Flink sets its class path. So for spark, there's conf/spark-env.sh and inside this file you can set environment variables. I did export SPARK_CLASSPATH and I just put all my dependencies. You'll have to find something equivalent in Flink.
ie :
export SPARK_CLASSPATH=$SPARK_CLASSPATH:/path/to/maven-compat-3.2.2.jar:/path/to/maven-core.3.2.2.jar and so on

I think we agreed on the plan, so I am going to do this. This is unmanageable as it generates 57 wrong @Ignored tests.
