[JBoss JIRA] (WFLY-2387) CDI injection in entity listeners failing
by Steve Ebersole (JIRA)
[ https://issues.jboss.org/browse/WFLY-2387?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.... ]
Steve Ebersole commented on WFLY-2387:
--------------------------------------
Don't forget that in the short-term there is also https://hibernate.atlassian.net/browse/HHH-10477.
[~tinypics] Did you try https://hibernate.atlassian.net/browse/HHH-10477 as well?
We all agree that that https://hibernate.atlassian.net/browse/HHH-8706 + *some* changes in WildFly/Weld (and ultimately propogating up to JPA/CDI) is the correct solution moving forward. However any changes for that are only done so far on the Hibernate side as [~smarlow] points out.

[JBoss JIRA] (WFLY-2387) CDI injection in entity listeners failing
by Scott Marlow (JIRA)
[ https://issues.jboss.org/browse/WFLY-2387?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.... ]
Scott Marlow commented on WFLY-2387:
------------------------------------
Thanks [~tinypics], I hit the same error from the JPA deployment code attempting to use the bean manager too soon. [https://hibernate.atlassian.net/browse/HHH-8706?focusedCommentId=74890&pa...] mentions that.
The [hack in progress|https://github.com/scottmarlow/wildfly/tree/orm51] change seems to help but we still need more changes. With this code change, the JPA container/subsystem/deployer has a META-INF/services/javax.enterprise.inject.spi.Extension specified, so that the org.jboss.as.jpa.beanmanager.BeanManagerAfterDeploymentValidation is call for the CDI javax.enterprise.inject.spi.AfterDeploymentValidation event. The next part of this change, is coming up for a way for the BeanManagerAfterDeploymentValidation to have access to other deployment internals.
Short term, it would be good to solve this in WildFly. Longer term, it would be better to have a standards based solution (JPA/CDI).

[JBoss JIRA] (SECURITY-934) RolesSearch in AdvancedLdapLoginModule is doing a needless LDAP call for each individual role
by Romain Pelisse (JIRA)
[ https://issues.jboss.org/browse/SECURITY-934?page=com.atlassian.jira.plug... ]
Romain Pelisse commented on SECURITY-934:
-----------------------------------------
[~pskopek] I've discuss this issue with Darran who told me you might be already working on it (or at least on a related LdapExt issue). Just for clarity purpose, can you confirm that (and maybe assign the issue to you and/or link to related issue). And, of course, if you need any help on this, feel free to ask me !

> There will be needless LDAP calls if we use AdvancedLdap login module.
> If a user is a member of (lets say) 100 groups, then we can get an extra 100 calls to the LDAP server.
> It can be performance problem.
> Same problem was in LdapExt login module.
> You can see this BZ https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1223840

[JBoss JIRA] (WFCORE-1344) Adding a module on remote host doesn't work as expected
by ehsavoie Hugonnet (JIRA)

ehsavoie Hugonnet commented on WFCORE-1344:
-------------------------------------------
The module command only works locally and is not designed to add/remove a module to a remote host.

> Hi,
> I connected to a remote WildFly instance via jboss-cli.bat (from Windows to Linux) and tried to install the MySQL module via
> {code}
> module add --name com.mysql --resources=C:\mysql....jar --dependencies=javax.api,javax.transaction.api
> {code}
> What I expected was, that the module would be installed on the remote host. What actually happend was: The CLI installed the module on my local WildFly instance instead.
