It was also recently released as standalone supported product Red Hat SSO. https://access.redhat.com/products/red-hat-single-sign-on Development team that used to work on PL moved to KeyCloak and only maintenance fixes are done to PL. We were running WildFly 8.2.1 and are now planning on upgrading to WildFly 10. Our application relies on picketlink 2.6 (or above) which was part of WildFly-8.2.1. Now you downgrade it even before the version that shipped with WildFly 8.2.1.
