[JBoss JIRA] (SECURITY-956) New behavior for empty string in rolesCtxDN in LdapExtLoginModule in EAP 7.1
by Ondrej Lukas (JIRA)
[ https://issues.jboss.org/browse/SECURITY-956?page=com.atlassian.jira.plug... ]
Ondrej Lukas updated SECURITY-956:
----------------------------------
Affects Version/s: PicketBox_5_0_0.Alpha3
> New behavior for empty string in rolesCtxDN in LdapExtLoginModule in EAP 7.1
> ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
>
> Key: SECURITY-956
> URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/SECURITY-956
> Project: PicketBox
> Issue Type: Bug
> Affects Versions: PicketBox_5_0_0.Alpha3
> Reporter: Ondrej Lukas
> Assignee: Stefan Guilhen
>
> In case when LdapExtLoginModule has option rolesCtxDN set to empty string then it has different behavior in EAP 7.0 (PicketBox 4.9.x) and 7.1 (PicketBox 5.0.x).
> EAP 7.0 uses empty string as base search for LDAP.
> * In case when LDAP server supports empty string search base (e.g. Apache DS allows it) it works as expected, all LDAP tree is searched for roles.
> * In case when LDAP server does not support empty string search base (e.g. Active Directory or Red Hat Directory Server) it thrown exception authentication fails. However exception is expected since it is misconfiguration for those LDAP servers.
> EAP 7.1 does not search any roles for empty string. That means:
> * In case when LDAP server supports empty string search base it does not find any roles. However some roles could be found on that type of LDAP servers.
> * In case when LDAP server does not support empty string search base it correctly returns no roles and authentication passes.
> From my PoV, behavior from EAP 7.0 is more correct, because it works correctly for LDAP servers where empty string is legal search base. However it can be decided that current EAP 7.1 behavior is intended. In that case please create Release Notes Jira (because it is change in behavior) and close this Jira.

> Fact handle operations are currently not supported in kie server as they usually bring less value in rule based systems where most of the operations are stateless. Though they do provide rather big value for processes integrated with rules.
> Operations that require fact handles are:
> - delete facts
> - update facts

[JBoss JIRA] (JGRP-2099) TP: one single thread pool
by Bela Ban (JIRA)
[ https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JGRP-2099?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.... ]
Bela Ban updated JGRP-2099:
---------------------------
Description:
Currently, TP has 4 thread pools:
* OOB
* Regular
* Internal
* Timer (used by TimeScheduler3)
The reason for this was mainly to prevent certain types of tasks from getting dropped due to a full pool. However, this can be changed by (1) making the pool have no queue and (2) handling the RejectedExecutionException (e.g. by spawning a new thread, or upping the max-threads value) for (e.g.) INTERNAL messages and timer tasks.
This not only simplify configuration (1 config section rather than 4), but also reduces the size of TP (removal of accessors, attributes). Things might also become a bit faster as a result.
The new common pool would have the following characteristics:
* Default rejection policy of "abort" (so we can handle pool exhaustion)
* No queue ({{SynchronousQueue}}), so new threads up to max-threads are created if none of the existing ones are available. The queue config attribute will be removed
* Catch RejectedExecutionException for INTERNAL messages and timer tasks. A new thread will be spawned on a RejectedExecutionException. This will be used mainly by INTERNAL messages and timer tasks
* Alternatively, we could increase max-threads (if {{ergonomics==true}}) if we get a constant rate of these exceptions

[JBoss JIRA] (WFLY-6960) SFSB concurrent access timeout when the bean defines CDI producer for another SFSB
by Enrique González Martínez (JIRA)
[ https://issues.jboss.org/browse/WFLY-6960?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.... ]
Enrique González Martínez commented on WFLY-6960:
-------------------------------------------------
It ssems that the error only happens when @RequestScoped and @Statefull at class level is used in combination with @produces and those are injected in different stages.
As Far as I can see the injection of the foo var fails in SFBean2 causing the creation exceptioin.

by Dmitrii Tikhomirov (JIRA)
Dmitrii Tikhomirov created WFLY-7068:
----------------------------------------
Summary: Typo in help for Infinispan subsystem
Key: WFLY-7068
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/WFLY-7068
Project: WildFly
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Web Console
Affects Versions: 11.0.0.Alpha1
Reporter: Dmitrii Tikhomirov
Assignee: Dmitrii Tikhomirov
Priority: Trivial
There is a typo in Passivation paragraph. "f false, the cache store contains a copy of the contents in memory, so writes to cache result in cache store writes."
There should be "If" instead of "f"
