> Currently, the broadcast/discovery-group resources have messy requirement specs, as the capabilities that they require are dependent whether or not the jgroups-cluster attribute is defined.
> I suggest splitting these resources into 2:
> {code}/subsystem=messaging-activemq/server=*/jgroups-broadcast-group=*{code}
> {code}/subsystem=messaging-activemq/server=*/jgroups-discovery-group=*{code}
> which requires clustering capabilities
> and
> {code}/subsystem=messaging-activemq/server=*/socket-broadcast-group=*{code}
> {code}/subsystem=messaging-activemq/server=*/socket-discovery-group=*{code}
> which requires a socket-binding capability.
> This results in clearer requirement specs - which helps simplify the introspection of this subsystem for provisioning purposes.

[JBoss JIRA] (WFLY-7719) HotRod-based distributed session manager
by Paul Ferraro (JIRA)
[ https://issues.jboss.org/browse/WFLY-7719?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.... ]
Paul Ferraro updated WFLY-7719:
-------------------------------
Description:
WildFly is currently able to externalize web sessions to a remote Infinispan-server cluster by use of an invalidation cache and a hotrod-store. This however requires clustering on the WF side, and is generally less efficient than a session manager that uses hotrod directly.
We have, in fact, already implemented this for Tomcat (http://github.com/wildfly-clustering/wildfly-clustering-web-tomcat) designed such that the core implementation can be shared with WildFly. This jira represents the completion of this work, and encompasses:
* Porting the wildfly-clustering-web-hotrod module to WildFly.
* Enhancing the distributable-web subsystem to allow configuration of this new session manager implementation
* Enhancing deployment descriptor support to allow deployment-specific session management using the new session manager implementation

by Miroslav Novak (JIRA)
[ https://issues.jboss.org/browse/WFLY-10736?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin... ]
Miroslav Novak updated WFLY-10736:
----------------------------------
Steps to Reproduce:
*Steps to reproduce - issue is intermittent, not 100% reproducer. There are offered 2 ways to reproduce:*
h3. Option 1 - running locally on your laptop
{code}
git clone git://git.app.eng.bos.redhat.com/jbossqe/eap-tests-hornetq.git
cd eap-tests-hornetq/scripts/
git checkout WFLY-10736
groovy -DEAP_ZIP_URL=<url-to-eap-or-wf-zip> PrepareServers7.groovy # for example file:///home/user/jboss-eap-7.x.x.zip or http://some-rul/wf-build.zip
export WORKSPACE=$PWD

mvn -Deap7.org.jboss.qa.hornetq.apps.clients.version=7.1531909463-SNAPSHOT clean install -B -Dtest=Lodh2TestCase#testRemoteJcaInboundOnly | tee log
{code}
h3. Option 2 - running automatic Jenkins job
*You can also use the following Jenkins job for running reproducer against your custom build WF/EAP build:*
https://eap-qe-jenkins.rhev-ci-vms.eng.rdu2.redhat.com/job/eap-7.x-messag...
Note that you need to upload your EAP/WF zip to dropbox or some public place where it can be accessed by the job. Then use the same parameters as in following build [1] where issue was reproduced with Wildfly 14. In parameters of the job replace value of EAP_ZIP_URL parameter by URL to your customer WF/EAP zip, for example on dropbox.

> There is regression in JGroups or Infinispan in one of our tests for fault tolerance of JMS bridges. However work on JMS bridge appears to be unrelated. Issue was hit in WF weekly run.
> Test Scenario:
> * There are two servers. InQueue is deployed on Node 1,
> * OutQueue is deployed on Node 2. Both servers are started.
> * Large byte messages are sent to InQueue deployed on Node 1. Bridge between servers/queues transfers messages from node 1 to node 2.
> * Node 1 is killed and started again.
> * All messages are received from OutQueue deployed on Node 2.
> Result:
> Node 1 does not start after kill and hangs. There is following exception logged in node 2:

[JBoss JIRA] (WFLY-10736) Server in cluster hangs during start after previous kill
by Miroslav Novak (JIRA)
[ https://issues.jboss.org/browse/WFLY-10736?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin... ]
Miroslav Novak commented on WFLY-10736:
---------------------------------------
Thanks [~kabirkhan] for running the reproducer and confirming that issue is still there (with workaround to VERIFY_SUSPECT and in custom JGroups branch).
[~pferraro] [~rhusar] [~kabirkhan]
I’ll update “Steps to Reproduce:” and provide link Jenkins job which will automatically run reproducer against your custom EAP/WF zip in case you cannot reproduce it locally and will verify that your fix is correct. Still I have info from [~kabirkhan] that he had no problem to reproduce locally.
??The fact that the restarted pod has the same logical name is inconsequential - JGroups member identity is based on UUID, not logical name. AIUI, Kubernetes dynamically assigns addresses to pods when they start, so it would most likely have a distinct physical address...??
[~pferraro] Unfortunately it’s not correct. As mentioned Pod itself is not restarted and remains the same. Also restarted docker container with EAP in the Pod does not change MAC address and remains the same.
Check following snippet from @maschmidt. He logs to the docker container in the pod and prints MAC address which is {{0a:58:0a:83:01:97}}. Then he kills EAP and waits until docker container with EAP is restarted. He logs to the restarted docker container again and he checks MAC address again and it’s the same {{0a:58:0a:83:01:97}}. See following snippet:
{code}
[maschmid@archie master]$ oc get pod hsc-1-ch95s
NAME READY STATUS RESTARTS AGE
hsc-1-ch95s 1/1 Running 0 9m
[maschmid@archie master]$ oc rsh hsc-1-ch95s
sh-4.2$ cat /sys/class/net/eth0/address
0a:58:0a:83:01:97
sh-4.2$ jps
433 jboss-modules.jar
2435 Jps
sh-4.2$ kill -9 433
sh-4.2$ command terminated with exit code 137
[maschmid@archie master]$
[maschmid@archie master]$ oc get pod hsc-1-ch95s
NAME READY STATUS RESTARTS AGE
hsc-1-ch95s 0/1 Error 0 9m
[maschmid@archie master]$ oc get pod hsc-1-ch95s
NAME READY STATUS RESTARTS AGE
hsc-1-ch95s 0/1 Running 1 10m
[maschmid@archie master]$ oc rsh hsc-1-ch95s
sh-4.2$ cat /sys/class/net/eth0/address

{code}
Thus this issue affects OpenShift use case and remains blocker CD14.

> {code}
