[JBoss JIRA] (WFCORE-4104) Clear log
by Brian Stansberry (JIRA)

Brian Stansberry moved WFLY-10935 to WFCORE-4104:

> Priority: Minor
>
> When debugging it’s handy to be able to easily clear the log just before triggering an action that makes an application misbehave (so that you can then inspect the log knowing that it starts when the action starts).
> For this, it would be nice to have the possibility to force rotate the log on the periodic-rotating-file-handler type of handler.
> Thus we would run something like this in the CLI: /subsystem=logging/periodic-rotating-file-handler=FILE:write-attribute(name="rotate", value=true)
> Maybe it’s already possible by writing the "enabled" or "change-file" or "append" attribute (twice, to put it back to its previous state), but it feels hackish and it’s undocumented, therefore I’m not sure what the side effects of this would be (even assuming it would work).
> GlassFish for example has [asadmin rotate-log|https://github.com/oliviercailloux/java-course/blob/master/Gla...].

[JBoss JIRA] (WFCORE-4018) Remove alias and read-aliases in a batch causes blocking behavior

Yeah, the second one is definitely the better way to do that kind of thing.

[JBoss JIRA] (DROOLS-2922) CSS: Pop-over menu for DMN decision tables.
by Sarah Rambacher (JIRA)
Sarah Rambacher commented on DROOLS-2922:
-----------------------------------------
The HTML (no CSS necessary) is in this PR: https://github.com/srambach/BxMS-frontend/pull/75/files
Rawgit: https://rawgit.com/srambach/BxMS-frontend/b546dda494fc91069f3cdba54d8ed52...
This is just the popover, and separately, the content that should be put into the popover.
One not about keyboard accessibility - to get to the dropdown selections, you use the arrow keys. However, to get to the text input inside the dropdown, you have to tab. I think (but am not positive) that ideally they would be consistent and use the arrow key, but I can't get this to happen. Probably needs some JS.

> *Background*
> Persona: Business analyst or Rules practitioner
> Use Cases from the DMN canvas view, as a user I want to:
> * Search a list of available data types from a decision table, as part of an input/selection process.
> * Select a data type inline from a decision table.
> * Have a means to rename the Decision (node.)
> * Have a means to access the Manage Data Types dialog.
> Notes:
> Design requires a Pop-over, which includes:
> * Form field labels for usability (context) and accessibility.
> * Variant 1 of the PF pop-over patterns, which supports a the pop-up title.
> * Drop down component with Live Search
> * "Manage" link opens a dialog.
> * Pop-up is initiated by a single-left mouse click within the respective decision table cell.
> * Design needs to be reasonably consistent with Stunner and PF components.
> Verification conditions:
> * Scrum team and PO review.

> As discussed in MSC-240, different impls of the MSC ServiceBuilder interface will support different subsets of the ServiceBuilder API, throwing UnsupportedOperationException if methods not in that subset are invoked. This makes code that accepts an SB from unknown origins vulnerable to failure if the wrong type of SB is passed in.
> WFCORE-4090 is an example of such a failure.
> I've done an analysis WildFly and WildFly Core use of ServiceBuilder looking for problematic cases. I will attach the analysis. This JIRA is to fix the items in WF Core that are annotated with the CRITICAL notation.
> A possible fix for this is simply incorporating an MSC release that has MSC-240 adequately resolved. (Note that adequate doesn't mean completely fixed; simply preventing problems in the methods annotated as CRITICAL is sufficient.) Barring that a fix would be to avoid or deal with the UOE.

Brian Stansberry edited comment on WFCORE-4099 at 9/10/18 2:14 PM:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The attached ServiceBuilderUsage.txt report is incorrect re the 'org.jboss.as.server.deployment' package. The 'register' method marked CRITICAL there is only called from a DeploymentUnitPhaseServiceImpl, which controls the type of SB that is passed in. -So at most those lines would be MINOR_PUBLIC.- These aren't even MINOR_PUBLIC, as while the DeploymentUnitPhaseDependency interface shouldn't be public (not necessary) none of the actual use of it is outside private code in the same package.

> There is regression in JGroups or Infinispan in one of our tests for fault tolerance of JMS bridges. However work on JMS bridge appears to be unrelated. Issue was hit in WF weekly run.
> Test Scenario:
> * There are two servers. InQueue is deployed on Node 1,
> * OutQueue is deployed on Node 2. Both servers are started.
> * Large byte messages are sent to InQueue deployed on Node 1. Bridge between servers/queues transfers messages from node 1 to node 2.
> * Node 1 is killed and started again.
> * All messages are received from OutQueue deployed on Node 2.
> Result:

> There is default JGroups udp stack configured which is used by Infinispan. Both of the servers (jgroups udp) are bound to 127.0.0.1. Node 2 has port offset 1000.
> Attaching thread dump from node 1 when it hangs during start.

[JBoss JIRA] (WFLY-10736) Server in cluster hangs during start after previous kill
by Paul Ferraro (JIRA)
Paul Ferraro reopened WFLY-10736:
---------------------------------
Reopening for now - as there remains the claim that an immediate restart following server kill can still cause the server to hang needs an explanation/resolution. Awaiting logs from this test run to investigate.

> Result:
> Node 1 does not start after kill and hangs. There is following exception logged in node 2:
> {code}
