The only reason for sort-by at the DMR level would be if you wanted sorting in the plain CLI output. But I don't see that as something important in that case. It becomes important in a GUI because the user expects to be able to sort a table by any column, ascending or descending. But you wouldn't use a DMR operation to do the sorting for you.
