I am seeing intermittent failures when starting AS7 in domain mode. It seems that this is
due to HostControllerConnectionService has hardcoded 15s timeout when trying to connect to
DC. I think that this value should be configurable.

Scheduled for 7.2 as it involves a new config element, which I don't want in 7.1.1. If
it proves to be an issue we could consider a system-property based workaround for 7.1.1,
with no guarantee of future support once the proper config element is introduced.

I would suggest to consider adding common set of network attributes (connection-timeout,
response-timeout, retry?, ...) to interface/socket-binding level. Than each
connector/service bound to it would respect that setting if the underlying protocol
supports that.

I would suggest to consider adding common set of network attributes (connection-timeout,

It's very doubtful the AS could support such a thing in a consistent way. In the end
the many different projects that get integrated into the AS are what open sockets; the
socket-binding configuration is just metadata we make available to those projects via our
integration layers. We should only add something to that socket-binding config if we know
every project we integrate will properly support the given configuration.
In this case, what's being configured isn't a socket level timeout. It's a
higher level timeout.

I am seeing intermittent failures when starting AS7 in domain mode. It seems that this is
due to HostControllerConnectionService has hardcoded 15s timeout when trying to connect to
DC. I think that this value should be configurable.
HostControllerConnectionService.java:
