I would think clicking on the hosts at the top of the page should "reset" this
view and I would not need to click on the "Server Status" tab to get back to the
"summary" list.

That may be fine, but remember were you were and clicking on the hosts tab has behavior
that I do not like...ie the hosts tab takes you to the remembered place in the state tree
for rendering that pane, and I do not think that is a very good usability thing.
