Key: EJBTHREE-902
URL:
http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/EJBTHREE-902
Project: EJB 3.0
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: EJB3 Extensions
Affects Versions: EJB 3.0 RC9 - Patch 1
Environment: This is for Cisco. It will be running on their customer installed
equipment which will include Linux, PC, Solaris. Target JBossAS is 4.0.5.
Reporter: Robb Greathouse
Priority: Minor
Talked to Carlos De Wolf and he asked me to enter this.
They want to be able to retrieve the client's IP address. They want to do this in the
same manner whether the client is coming in through RMI or web.
They want to use the IP for logging, security, and routing of requests. They might also
like to use it in connection with Drools for firing off different rule sets for different
clients or locatioins based on IP address. The Drools use is in the future and
speculative at this point.
This would mean that the IP address would be needed on the server side. The only way I
can see to do this would be to provide a configuration that would capture it on the client
side and pass it through to the server side. The capture would have to take place in both
the RMI and the Web server.
